Almost everyone ordering from us for the first time asks the same question: which fabric should I get? It is the right question, because the answer determines nearly everything about how a scarf wears. How heavy it feels. Whether you need an undercap. Whether it stays put through a long day.
We work with three fabrics. In a photograph they look similar. Worn, they behave very differently. Here is exactly where the difference sits — numbers included, so you can judge for yourself.
| Sheer Crêpe | Premium Jersey | Fluid Jersey | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Composition | 100% polyester | 96% polyester, 4% lycra | 90% polyester, 10% lycra |
| Weight | 135 g | 280 g | 240 g |
| Coverage | Sheer | Opaque in most colours | Fully opaque |
| Stretch | None | Slight | Considerable |
| Size | 175 × 70 cm | 175 × 70 cm | 175 × 70 cm |
| From | € 19.95 | € 23.95 | € 29.95 |
All three are wrinkle-resistant and cut to the same dimensions. The difference lives in weight, stretch and coverage — which happen to be the three things that decide how your day goes in that scarf.
At 135 grams, Sheer Crêpe is by far our lightest fabric. It has a fine, lightly textured surface and a degree of sheerness. That sheerness is a deliberate quality rather than a shortcoming: it is precisely what makes the fabric layer so beautifully. It falls softly, pleats cleanly, and on a warm day you barely register it.
That transparency does mean you will want an undercap beneath it for full coverage. Plan for that when ordering. Sheer Crêpe is 100% polyester with no lycra, so it does not stretch — you shape it through draping rather than tension.
Choose Sheer Crêpe if you prefer light fabrics, enjoy layering, or want something for warmer weather. Starting at € 19.95, it is also the easiest way to try a colour you are not yet sure about.
At 280 grams, Premium Jersey is our heaviest fabric, and you notice immediately. In most colours it covers completely with nothing underneath. That saves a layer and saves time, and for many women it is the entire reason they choose it.
The 4% lycra gives just enough give to follow the shape of your head without pulling. It stays where you put it. In lighter shades there can be some sheerness — if you are ordering Pale Ivory or Silver Mauve and want full coverage, an undercap is still worth having.
Choose Premium Jersey if coverage and ease come first, and you would rather not spend your mornings on pins and layers.
At 240 grams, Fluid Jersey sits between the other two in weight, but with 10% lycra it has considerably the most stretch. The result is a fabric that covers completely while still draping beautifully — it hangs rather than holds.
That high stretch brings a practical benefit: the fabric recovers its shape. After a full day it still looks the way it did in the morning. This is where the higher price comes from — from € 29.95, and more for the patterned variants.
Choose Fluid Jersey if you want full coverage without the weight of 280 grams, and you like a scarf that moves with you rather than the other way round.
If you want to decide quickly:
Honestly, most women end up with a combination — a Premium Jersey for weekdays, a Sheer Crêpe for warm days or for layering over something else.
Every scarf measures 175 × 70 cm, which gives room for both close and looser draping styles. Note that sizes can vary slightly, as fabric shrinks a little when ironed.
